Anyways I have done research...... apparently not the correct research.

Current tank mates Powder Blue Tang, Marine Betta and two deformed Onyx (don't ask).

1) Researched Marine Betta's and from what I have read that you can have multiple and breeding is successful.

In my tank, jaws lock, scales fly and so far not so good.

2) Added Copperband Butterfly and being harassed by Powder Blue. Scrunched up in corner.

So far have turned off the lights and feed twice. Any additional thoughts on reducing fin to fin or mouth to mouth combat would be greatly appreciated.

Fitz.

ok, first off, 2 bettas in a 90 is a recipe for disaster. I would also not reccomend the powder blue in that size tank.

I know someone with a 2500g tank and he put 2 marine bettas in about 4 months ago and they won't even stay on the same side of the tank, so that should give you an idea on how well they get along.

User,

1) I have previously seen 3 bettas in a 75 for 3 years with no issues. They were all introduced at same time. Lost touch with individual when I left the service.

2) Powder blue is currently 2.5 inches. 125 lbs of rock in tank.

2) Added Copperband Butterfly and being harassed by Powder Blue.

I once added a CBB to my display tank, which had an established PBT. I added the CBB at night and left the lights off the following day, but the PBT attacked the CBB non-stop.

I removed the PBT and put him in my frag tank for a month or two. When I moved the PBT back to the display tank, there was no problem between the PBT and the CBB. My theory is that the PBT didn't recognize the DT as it's territory any longer, so the CBB wasn't an "intruder".
