compensating for ph drop due to vinegar dosing

does anyone dose vinegar . I'm hoping to learn a little more of the intricacies of dosing vinegar to a reef tank. I've started dosing I'm on week 2 and the vinegar seems to dropping my alk. i dose manually with a syringe in the afternoon when i get home from work about 3 hrs before the lights go out.

How much are you dosing and how big is your tank? I am dosing 30ml a day in 140 gallon with a doser running right around 4ml once an hour while my lights are on and I don't notice a ph change. I started with 10ml all at once and didn't see anything then either. Also, are you dosing near your ph probe? My dosing is downstream of my probe.

i have a 210gal and am dosing per the chart from reef keeping. com magazine. so I'm dosing 13ml a day this week and next week bump up to 17ml. I've just been testing alk a lil while after dosing to make sure it isn't dropping

CO2 concentration figures into the equation. It's not a direct relation between alk and pH.

so I'm fine to dose as per the chart and my ph will be fine? and alk so be unaffected

Alk should be unaffected but your pH always has a direct reflection on the amount of CO2 in the water. Simply open up the windows in the house and your PH will rise.

Are you basing your dose on Nitrate levels?
