Computer cooling fan adapters...????

Hey all,
I saw a thread on here a few weeks back about cooling fans. I ended up ordering two fans that were recommended. Of course the search feature is down so I can't find the thread from before that mentioned the adapter I would need to get for these fans to plug in the wall.

Does anyone know what kind of adapter I need for computer fans and where I can get them???? Thanks in advance.

what do the fan plug ends look like??? if they look like the one in this pic, they are a 4-pin molex.....if they are smaller, then you have the mini-molex

if you have the 4-pin molex, these power adapters have the molex adapter built-on the plug & should plug directly into the fan & should power 2-4 fans

if you have the mini-molex, you can get the power unit above & then would need a mini-molex to molex adapter also....

last time i went to cellular shack...err i mean radio shack....they didn't even know what i meant when i asked for a molex plug

but i can bet ya $$$ they would know exactly what i was asking for if i asked for a cell phone adapter:rolleyes:

You should be able to use any 12v adapter and connect the red and black wires to it and it'll work. That's what I'm using

any xformer 12vdc and 200ma(for 2 fans) should work.when you cutoff plug on xformer and split the 2 wires, the one with dots running all the way down it is the positive.

im running 5 fans on 1a but i feel this is a little overkill

thanks guys, I did try to go to RadioShack and they had no clue what would convert that. I even asked if there was any adapter I could splice and tie in to, nothing....thx james, i will order that unit. do you have to splice or does the molex plug right into that unit?

no splicing. it has a male molex that plugs into the female of the fan

not sure if yours have it, but if you go back up & look at the pic i posted, mine have both so you can plug the next fan inline
