conductivity probe worthless

:bounce1::celeb1:

So just to confirm the GHL salinity probe is not worthless...... just needs cleaning :)

Just messin with ya :beer:

Glad we got there ;)

I think this also has been an educational trip for many others too :)

I have been using the temp probe to check solution and temp is equal within 4-5 min submerged. Overnight is def not needed and 6 hrs is not needed for that matter. Within a few minutes the small amount of liquid in the container has reached the same temp.

It should be not many could stand losing a few g's in gorgeous corals and not freak out. The manual should state or somewhere it should state monthly calibration. For that matter should all the probes be calibrated monthly besides temp?

tank is 1.028 verified with refrac and probe. Bummer it was higher until yesterday when I changed out water and just put fresh in. Looks like I will change a gallon out for some ro/di now and keep doing it over the next week or so.

The lab certificate that comes with the probe goes into detail about the maintenance of the probe. But cleaning goes with the territory with any probe, and should be on the to do list for sure, but I guarrantee you are not alone in not cleaning probes, I doubt 20% of readers do it monthly, me included ;) although I try to remember.

Once a month is a good reference.

In regards to the time it takes to heat up your solution, yes this could take a shorter time, but everyones time will be different, so when answering support for all to see we have to cover all possibilities so it is best to give the wider percpective.

Michael, I do appreciate you helping me get this resolved. I should have caught the signs MUCH earlier.

Jeff

PS is it pool time for us YET lol

My pool is under a ton of snow :(

got to have liner lifted on one end as there is bit of grit under it, its amazing a tiny speck can make a mountain, they are doing it in the spring, their expense of course.

Will get one of those funky test kits also in the spring and get the lights changed from highly power consuming halogens to LED's along with a P4 remote.

Thermo blanket also for spring and fall.

Fortuatly last time I upgraded my firmware I forgot to save my settings and wasn't trusting it anyway. I think though reading this I'm going to explore the Maintenece reminder screen to see if I can get it to remind me ounce a month.
