Conduit Bender

Thanks for +1 wrasseman.

Adam, rigid pipe is about 3 bucks for a 10 ft piece. So, if I mess up a couple bending them it's no big deal. Besides, I have bowfront tank so the bent pipe will look better than the hard corners.

i have a race car and although that point is moog when you have roll cages built the "mandrel" bend the pipe and its perfectly formed . if you were to use 1 1/2"or 2" fence post and find someone that has the capabilities that would be the cats meow . ok i will leave you alone now because the 3/4"electrical will probably look awesome so we will leave the ideas alone unless your still open to that kind of stuff .

This isn't a new idea. I'm actually stealing it from last month's RK Mag. Here's the Link

I think the 1 or 1 1/2 inch pipe would be overkill... I'm not building a roll cage.

I just wanted to clarify I did not mean that IMC would not rust just that IMC being formed from thinner flat higher grade steel alloy than GRMC and finished differently, IMC - electroplating and GRMC "“ Hot dipped, IMC usually weathers better.

How ever Galvanizing will generate zinc oxide over time that will allow standard paint to peel off. The surface can be treated with a product called T-Wash, Plascoat PPA 571 or similar type product, which kind of supper oxides the surface, but T-Wash or Plascoat PPA 571 may be hard to find in small quantities.

You mite consider looking into standard Cold Rolled Black Pipe (Gas Pipe). Then you could use standard steel rust pre-treatment, which can be found at most automotive supply stores that carry real paint, not the stuff in a can.

EGD,

Thanks for the info. How does the gas pipe compare to the conduit in terms of strength? What size do you recommend? I am going to be hanging a 30 inch Odyssea MH/PC fixture on it.
