I have a Haitian purple tip Condy. am looking for documentation on normal sea anemone behavior; specifically any visual diagrams. Attached is the only one on the web I could find. Also, do Condy's prefer rock or sand?

I had one many years ago. It's will be attached to rocks like BTA anemones. Very hardy and will NOT host clownfish.

That's not completely true.

I've had a few Condy anemones because I used to be able to collect them for free in the Florida Keys (they are now illegal to take). I had a mated pair of clowns using a long tentacle anemone as a host. The anemone moved and cut itself wide open on a sharp edge of a rock. I replaced it with a Condy.

The clowns were wary at first and would just swim up to it and then away. After a couple of days they would swim just barely into it and then back out. A couple of days later they were swimming right through it, but still not staying in it. A few days later they were living in it like they had been together forever. They never had any issues after that.

I've had mine for over a year now. Didn't move around that much, but the last time it did it was taking up too much real estate on the rocks it settled on. I moved this Tiki head ornament near it hoping it would move to that. It worked and once he moved to the Tiki head I moved it away from the rocks and he settled in nicely. When the Condy isn't retracted all the way into the head he shares it with a Flasher Wrasse, It's cool to see the fish swim in and out of the eye holes. No problem with any of the fish, they swim around it all the time. The Cleaner shrimp will get stuck to it's tentacles when it tries to steal food but breaks away easily. Bought when it was the size of a golf ball, now it's the size of a softball.

Condy should stay in one place (for a while) when it is 'happy'... When it decides to move, it can sting and kill other corals in its way.

I've had multiple condys that hosted different clowns (but not Occ or Percs/ though that might happen)

I've also had some white ones with pink or purple tips, that grew very large and completely changed to pink or purple totally
