conecting a magnet to the wavebox

I am putting a suction cup on the wave box top and a magnet on the bottom. How do you attach the magnet to the wavebox?

Sorry to bring up an old post.
I am trying to mount my wavebox using magnets, top and bottom. Do I attach the magnet directly to the wavebox using the nipples. The keyhole slot in the magnet seems a bit small to fit over the nipple. Do not want to force it, just yet, until I find out if that is the correct way to do it.
What about the nipple at the bottom for the suction cup, do I cut that off or does it not "foul" in the magnet.

Another question with respect to location of the wavebox. Does it matter it the flow does not have a clear run from one end of the tank to the other end. The aquascaping of the live rock blocks a through run.

It is a tight fit but they should press on. The lower one should clear the nipple in the center.
