Confining RBTA to a rock island?

I am thinking of buying a RBTA for my 120 but I don't want it
"walking" all over. Can I put it on a small rock island in my sand and hope that it will stay? Can they walk across sand or do they need a solid surface like rock?

They can walk and they can float so it most likely will not work,

No problem. If it was happy in its it island it could possibly stay there forever but if it got unhappy it would release and go wandering.When it lost its foothold it then would become a floater. Floaters then become powerhead magnets and thats another story........
