confused 9005 vs 9010

I am looking for a skimmer for my 50 gal breeder, mixed, but with mostly SPS. I was thinking the 9005 but in an earlier post it was mentioned the 9010 would be better choice taking into account the "sump kit". Can anyone elaborate on this? What is the sump kit (as this skimmer will be in my sump)? Will the 9010 be too much skimming for my needs? Is there a good reason to be spending the extra $ for the 9010 verse the 9005 in my case?

sorry, I just found what the "sump kit" is. So, does the 9010 already include that setup? Is it too much skimmer for a 50 gal setup?

Yes, by the time you buy a 9005 and sump kit you are $30 from a 9010. The main reason the 9005 is made is it is designed for in tank use and the shorty cup fits under most canopies.

what would be the max recommend tank size a 9010 could skim. I realize there is a lot of "what if's" that go w/ that question. Assuming a moderate to heavy SPS load?

One more question. Regarding the input and output of the 9010. Is there a way to allow the input and output be directed? So, if it is in a chamber of the sump and intakes general water (from the display tank) is there a way to direct the output to the next chamber? I would liek to not mix skimmed and unskimmed waters so 100% of the skimmed water is tank water.

It isn't possible but I wouldn't worry about it as the water flows out slowly and the velocity is so little that the flow through the sump should carry the water on the surface away from the skimmer. I don't think very much water is recirculated.
