I got two PC fans to blow across the top of my tank to lower temps. What adaptor do I need to plug them into my powerbar?

80mm x 80mm x 25mm

Rated Voltage: 12V

Rated Input: 1.2w

Fan Speed: 2050 RPM

Air Flow: 27 CFM

Noise: 21db

Look around and see if you have an old DC power suply laying around from an old cell phone or other appliance, I seem to have bunches of them laying around. If not you can get a variable voltage DC power supply from Harbor Freight Tools for less than $5 that allows you to control the fan speed by varying the voltage from 6, 7.5, 9, 10.5 and 12 volts with a little dial or speed pot. You can also get these power supplies/adapters at WalMart in the electronics dept or Radio Shack.
As far as hooking them up, cut the DC plug off the power supply, its only two little wires, and strip the wires back 1/2". On the fans also cut the plug off and disregard the yellow or white wire if they have on, strip the black and red wires back and twist them together with the power supply wires with a wire nut or use a crimp splice connector. If you need more length you can add wire but make sure you run the wires from each fan back to the power supply individually and don'tdaisy chain from one to the other or it cuts the voltage in half which cuts the speed in half. I twisted my wires initially to test the fan direction and did a more permanent splice once I got them in place. On some fans they will only run one direction so you may need to reverse the red and black wires sometimes to make them work.
