Hi
I have an apple airport extreme and airport exprees that I connect to the apex. My problem is I can see the apex when I am in range of my network and on my Iphone but when I try to access from outside the area I can not get in? I am Not sure what to use.
Under port mapping setup assistant I have the following:
Service Choose A service drop down has:
Personal File Sharing
Windows Sharing
Personal Web Sharing
Remote Login- ssh
Ftp Acess
Apple Remote Desktop
Remote Apple Events
printer Sharing
Pop Mail
Pop Mail With ssl
Imap mail
imap mail with ssl
smtp mail
quicktime streaming server
jabber

Which one of these would I use to allow access to my apex?
Do I need to set up more than one? I see the email list on there? Also my IP
address changes from time to time with comcast. Will the dyndns help this
out? Will this service work with my airport network? Thank for your help and
patience.
Mark

:), i was about to, as this question, i just moded a linksys wrt54g succesfully, but i cant get the apex to connect, using time capsule, so i was thinking of getting a airport express... how is the setup fopr the apex on the Airport xpress?
keep posting...!!!

I will get my Apex today from Reefgeek. I will update my airport extreme/time machine and airport express how to hopefully in a few days.

I have my Apex hooked up to my airport extreme network through a airport express. Works very well. I am still having some issues with connecting outside my network. Thanks rsuplido for the set up link. I am working on the settings.

Got a dyndns.com account and set up my extreme to the settings that rsuplido showed in the above link and things work great from outside the network now. Thanks for all the help!

i have read that also, but i can get it to work, i did exactly what was there, only thing is i dont know where to put my dyndns username or whatever oin the airport (time machine), please help... even withouth that i get somekind of connection, using my ip while it doesnt change (wich is dynamic), and the light on the app turns green, but never states connected or displays any info...
thanks

if the dyndns client is in my mac, how would the router send the dyn server the new ip when it changes without the mac connected... will it ever have to be connected???

im using the airport extreme / time capsule with PPPoE settings.

Any apple airport doesn't support DynDns to be configured directly within. You need another pc/mac running constantly, or often so it can send your updated IP to DynDns.

I run a small pc 24 hours since it runs magicjack. I have my dyndns client there. I run an Asus Eee Box (about $280) which only consumes about 40w. If you factor the savings you are getting from MagicJack and an always connected AquaController, it's well wort it. ;)
