considering changing pump configuration

I have a 155 bowfront, my flow is controllled by a 7095 controller and I have 2 - 6100's pumps. I have the 6100s set up one in each side on the tank. The 155 bowfront configuration is a little different, I have gone back and forth on placement of the pumps, I did have them in the back corners, but now I have them on the sides, not sure if either placement is more effective. The pumps are about 5 years old but are still doing a good job. However, I do have a few dead zones which are not getting enough flow, mostly in the back of the tank. I upgraded from a mag 12 to a mag 18 for my return pump, located in my 110 gallon sump. It added a little more flow but not nearly enough.

I am considering adding a third pump that I could add to the back of my tank. Or perhaps I could upgrade my 6100 to increase flow? Any suggestions?

Do you know for sure they are 6100 and not 6000? They both used motor 6100.100, the transformer is 7210.202 for 6000 and is 7410.602 for 6100.

No real upgrade would be possible to the existing pumps. I would probably add a 6105. In general though if the pumps are running at peak performance I would expect better positioning and possibly a different program to enable this pair alone to do the job.

Thanks for the info, if I was to add a smaller pump to the back is there one you recommend? is there a osciliating pump?

That is yet another option, you could even oscillate the pumps you have, we don't make such a device but they are available-

If you wanted to go with a smaller pump and the glass is less than 3/4" thick, the 6095 might work, out of the box it will only work on up to 3/8" so you would need to upgrade the magnet holder with part 6025.501.
