Contest of the Month - Best safety tip - Learned the HARD WAY.

i used to work at this hardware store owned by a sorry excuse for a human.

the guy had me replacing all the ballasts in the florecent lights in the store.

naturally using common sense, i would flick the circuit off for each row of like 20 lights, ya know just to be safe?

halfway through a section, this POS Bill, turns the circuit ON and doesnt tell me.

so im up on a ladder *(lke 8' of the ground mind you) and this really hot chick is one isle over. so i was enjoying my view from above when Bill flipped the circuit.

i was holding the bare ground, ya know the DEATH" wire?

i shot off that ladder like the kid in jurrasic park man. over the isle onto the ground, right infront of the hotty.

i ruptured my right eardrum, burns of corse, and a concusion.

Bill gave me $100. and i went home to seek console in a six pack and my bub.

i remember a story a friend of mine told me that owned a maintenance company, he had a tank crash for some reason or another and took the dead fish home in a bucket just to get them out of the clients tank, he lived up in evergreen and would just throw out the dead fish in the yard for animals to eat, according to him he awoke the next day to find a dead coyote that was lying next to a half eaten lionfish... strange story...

i made the mistake once of pulling a dead blue tang out of a clients tank and proceeded to jokingly throw it by the tail like a ninja star into a dumpster... there is a reason they call them surgeon tangs... i had to get stitches on my finger where the tail blade cut me...

I feel your pain. I sliced the palm of my hand on a Snook's gill plate, when it got stuck in my cast net.

during a WC, make sure you dont splash wter on the wall with your outlet.

I didn't shock myself but I did manage to weld the power strip into the outlet. Which really sucked since the power strip was trashed itself.

If you have a little leak in a bulkhead...... don't try to fix it at midnight.

If you have a little leak in a bulkhead, tightening it probably won't help much.

If you choose to fix it at midnight and have to turn off your sump for the night because you bust your only bulkhead, make sure the skimmer air line doesn't start a siphon thats fed by a 75gpd RO top off system.

When cleaning a power head, never pull it out of the water when it is on... and be sure your wife isn't standing in front of the aqurium telling you, "you might want to shut that off". Needless to say, she got a nice shower. :-) At least one of us was thinking...
