started doing flips and acting stressed, a failed molt from what i read. my water conditions are good, so im guessing things went wrong before i ever got him. at least he still has an appetite. should I still feed, or will a little fasting help at all? i wish there was something i could do...

Eating is good. If it's taking food readily, continue to offer it. You may want to shut off that HQI for a few days, check water parameters, and all of that. Add activated carbon to those HOB filters "just in case".

The tank looks great, BTW.

if its molting i doubt it will eat till its shell is hard again..

so i would not add food till tis acting right again... which i dont think will happen. :(

I would second the idea of turning off the lights. I would also leave him totally alone for a few days, as hard as that is. They seem to need time to adjust to their new home. Did you drip acclimate? You have a beautiful tank.

ok ill keep feeding and turn the lights off for a while. I dont really have a drip setup, but i use a turkey baster to change water out. I was careful to acclimate slowly, about 2 hours. Thanks for the compliments!

Very nice rock scaping. I love how you arched the rocks around a center cave area. Looks like an underwater lagoon.

my advice is to cut lights and stop feeding for at least 48 hours. feeding will only the stress the thing further. Dont do water changes. like helipilot said, the key is to just leave the guy alone and not check in on him every waking hour.

btw, nice tank. i love the way to scaped it as well.

I had a n wennera that did the same thing,i turned off lights for a couple of days and it got better.I think it is caused by stress from shipping.GOOD LUCK
