There was a thread back in the IC forum that didn't get carried over (and I haven't gone looking for it over there). But it basically was an open forum for suggestions/requests for the single driver functionality. Night mode, feed timer, random cycles, pulse cycles, audible alert for problems, etc were all suggested. I have an additional suggestion that I am not sure if it is doable or not, but I wanted to post it anyways :
Is there a way for the driver to detect when a pump is drawing a vortex of air (from the water surface) and then throttle back the speed to minimize the bubbles introduced into the tank ? Then maybe slowly ramp back up again ?
We have our pumps placed pretty high up in the tank, so minimize sand disturbance and to also blow "over" the rockwork. This has resulted in our need to reduce the pump speed to minimize the vortex being pulled. We would love to be able to run the pumps at the highest possible speed, just below the "vortex" speed, but it is hard to dial that in, without ending up with a pretty low setting (even the mid level settings will occassionally pull a vortex, and once they start they seem to be inclined to keep it up, or happen more frequently).
Anyways, this is just a suggestion/request, and not one that I am even sure is possible. I know that the drivers are going to be software controlled and that these features are merely software updates/changes, but it all depends on how the driver would see the data of when a vortex is occurring (would the power draw show a drop because more air is introduced into the pump wet end ?)
