Controller options

So when is your controller supposed to get here? Mine is supposed to be delivered on Tuesday.

Ordering time and tit heaters....sounds like Wayne has a time machine and a bunch of cold strippers at his house

I know...too much coffee and Virology tonight:rolleyes:

Shouldn't you have at least 2 tit heaters, some how one only seems like 1/2 as many as one would need. lol

In the other thread he is asking how a pole works so they must be dancers....oh wait, that was poll.

I finally got mine yesterday and am slowly figuring this thing out. My major hurdle was getting the wireless adapter to work right. It is a little more complicated than I thought but I think I am going to like it.

lemme know if you need any help with the program. Now for the wireless adapter, don't you just have to connect thing thingymabob to the whachimacallit?

Well, I had a doohicky conflict. :)

I am working on the e-mail setup right now and haven't figured that out yet. Not sure what I am doing wrong yet.

How do you hook up X10s to the ACIII? I have some laying around and was thinking of using them for some non-critical items. I read you plug the transmitter into the DC8 but how do you tell it which modules to turn on and off?

One thing I learned real quick was don't accidentally select the memory init button. :D I wiped out 2 days of programming with one push. I was able to reprogram it in about 30 minutes so I guess I learned something along the way.

I like this thing. I thought you had to buy the expensive software to have e-mail alarms but was pleasantly surprised that you didn't. Yesterday I freaked out when I got an e-mail that said the pH was 7.4! I went down and checked and the sticky velcro had came loose and the controller fell off the wall. It pulled the probe out of the tank when it did. I have some float switches laying around so I am may tinker with them this weekend.

I have one question. How do you program it to have the smallest temperature change? I thought I had it right but I started getting unknown status from the fans.

I don't know how I got along without this thing. I have it controlling my lights, moonlight, kalk mixing, topoff water solenoid, heaters, fans, CO2 in calcium reactor, and return pump. I have the DC8 just about maxed out and three X10 modules. I didn't think I would ever figure it out at first but I am getting pretty proficient with programming now. Now if I could just figure out how to make a webpage and put it up on it so I could check on the tank while away.

I'm headed that way, too. I wanted to set up a PLC to run everything, but I think this will be a cheaper alternative for me... I like the idea of automation:).
