Converting CC to BB

In my 75 gal FOWLR setup I'm tired of Vacuuming it... So this weekend i think i will remove the Crushed coral its 2" deep.

Any precautions i should take. I vacuumed it extensively tonight. Plan on doing a water change of 25% tomorrow or should I just wait till this weekend when I remove the CC?

Do 2 water changes or limit it to one and do it all at once?

Thinking of adding a Seio 1100 near the bottom to stir things up. To much flow? Stick with the 1100 or go with the 820?

My Ornate wrasse likes to sleep below the CC will it be a prob if tank is BB? Add any stress?

Thanks

Kris

If it were my tank I would only remove 1/2 the cc from the tank at a time. The cc does provide some biological filtration, so I would split the tank in half down the center remove one 1/2 and give it a week or two and then remove the rest. This gives your tank some time to adjust to the change.

I would give the ornate wrasse away or trade it to some one that has a tank with substrate. Burrowing is a natural instinct for that fish and the stress of not having it might be to much for it.

Just my 2 cents.

"Although they bury themselves in sand, Halichoeres wrasses are not completely dependent on a sand substrate. They will bury themselves if sand is available but appear to be just as content wedging themselves in a rock at night. I have kept them in tanks with shallow crushed coral substrate without any problems."

Here is the quote from the thread that will probably answer your question. I hope I did not give you bad advice.
