Cool Fish on Diver's Den

It should be Expert but even Live Aquaria makes mistakes, or they just want to sell more fish for easy money.

While all companies want to make money, LA is "better than that" in some regard, otherwise they'd have tank-size recommendations similar to some "lesser" online sellers (ie: some have 125 gallon tanks as the recommended size for Blue Hippo Tangs).
I just did a google search and can't find much about curious wormfish being difficult feeding-wise. Do you have any links regarding that? Are you thinking of pencil wrasses or garden eels, by chance?

LA has a few mistakes including wrong picture IDs, I doubt that they are intentional...

I've never heard of any success stories with Curious Worm Fish...

Is that enough for you? These are just the ones I had on hand im, sure I could find more. Some people have had success with them, mostly in groups of 3+. Its all about luck if you can get it to eat. Even then they seems to disappear without trace.

If you wana try it go ahead, but IMO the one at DD doesn't look all that fat or healthy.

S2700 fish!

S2700 fish!

I need to know. Who out there would pay $2700 for a gem tang? Just came up on divers den. That seems crazy to me. It is not even that interesting or colourful fish. IMO there are more attractive tangs.

For $2700 i could fly to Mauitious and swim with gem tangs. If they are that rare no one should buy one. That would be akin to keeping a condor in my garage.

If I had the coin I would buy one just to go with my YTT you see in my avatar. I think that one is one of the better looking Gem tangs I have seen in a while. I like the size and shape of that one as well as the arrangement of the dots. It also has some blue tint in there.

Funny it was sold last night and has popped back up. They must have had second thoughts.

I would. Bucket list fish for me. Next tank I get, 8 ft long and a gem tang will be the show fish for it.

I wouldn't pay that for a Gem tang ever but I would spend that on other fish no doubt about it.

That would cost you much more than $2700

It would cost far more than $2700 but would be worth it. Traveling trumps reefing in my (pocket) book.
I went to Shark's Cove in Oahu last June and saw a group of juvi Convict tangs in a tide pool. The thought of catching one and bringing home to LA sounded very exciting even though I can buy one locally for $20. But due to legality of catching fish and logistics of transporting it I gave up on the idea LOL.
