Just pulling him out of quarantine and putting him in my meet the other fish tube.

It was in the dealers tank for several months, and when I saw it - I had to have it. I guess it is a yellow variety of a blue spot (Opistognathus rosenblatti).

Can any Jawfish experts chime in?

sorry to tell you this, but that is not a "morph" of a blue spot jaw. that fish looks like it is afflicted by the bacterial disease that claims a large portion of them. he looks seriously ill

Do you have any other information on this? Is there any treatment?

The fish was very active in the dealers tank and eats well.

I've looked on line some and all of the pictures that I saw - the bacterial infected fish had a white slime coat. This one does not have that.

to me he looks emaciated (belly looks shrunken and taught), his skin is blotchy which you normally see when they get sick. and then it looks like he has abrasions or septicemia on the rear third of his body. these are a fish with a track record for exhibiting the same symptoms i see in yours when they contract this disease.

I agree looks sick and under nourished. How long was he in QT. Is he eating. If he is eating maybe some sort of internal parasite. Also if he was at the dealer for several months why did the dealer get rid of it??
