I hope it lives. I just thought this was a cool pic. I wish I hadn't gotten it because after I did I found out they are hard to keep. It's been a couple months.
When I turn all the pumps off at feeding time, mine creeps up like a nassarius snail, and joins the party. It eats all the food on the bottom that my scooter isn't interested in, which is usually pellets. He's like a living Roomba.
It's a sand sifting star. They are common. I just hope it doesn't starve. I didn't know they would eat food like pellets. Maybe I should toss a few in.
I'm not sure that a hungry star that eats decomposing pellets would be picky if a brand new pellet dropped in front of him. Food is food. What form its in likely doesn't matter when its hungry.
