Cooling Fan

I'm pretty sure I have no idea how to do any of that. If you supply the links for everything I need I can ask someone that helps me maintain my tank if they can do it.
The fans on rapid led look easy to connect but I still would need help mounting them.

It's pretty easy. You just splice and join some wires. Then just drill 2 holes in the canopy. I used a 4" holesaw I purchased from Harbor Freight. Mine looked like this..

I had them hooked up to the RKL but they hardly ever came on. But, I did run leds and my house is 76 degrees 24/7.

MLivvy- I wont argue your choice since no DB (noise) ratings are noted on you link. But that needs to be seriously taken into consideration.

Very true. Here is a better link with more info. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608009

18dB at full rpm is pretty nice eh. :)

I'm not sure where the vents are but if I had to guess I would say they are probably against the top. The lights are attached to the canopy for sure.

Regardless of whether you get fans or not. I would try to make a cut out on the top section of your canopy where the vent is located or at least where the heat is building up.

just compared the silenx and the noctuas. The silenx fan that has same noise (18db) is pushes 50% more air than the noctuas(90cfm vs 60cfm).
Now cost difference?? didn't look that up.

I bought 2 silenX 18db 90cfm 120mm fans. Will this help raise my ph?
I haven't decided where to install them yet. Tiger had them for 14.99 each online and in store and I bought an adapter so I don't need to do any splicing and can run 2 off one power supply

Crackem, can you take a photo when you get a chance? Also, can you share what you mean about the adapter? I am looking at these fans as well and would love to see how you did it.

This is the adapter I bought. It has a few extra parts that I don't need to use but it is plug and play no splicing needed. I haven't installed the fans yet but the guy at the store hooked 2 fans up to the adapter to show me how they worked.

Are you sure you looked at the same unit of measurement? CFM's?

The Noctuas are hungarian I believe and they use a different unit of measurement on their site.

That said, I used Noctuas on my last set up and they worked like a charm. By far the most quiet, long lasting computer fan I have ever used to cool.

I am using two on my new set up as well.

One tip: Make sure you blow the air inside the canopy, instead of trying to suck it out.

The salt and moisture will damage the fans if spinning wrong way
