Whoa, Sean...a month does not at all equal success. Never? You have absolutely no way to know that.Sorry, but your mandarin will not survive just on the pods already in your 29 gallon and what it can produce...I'm sure many people on here will agree.
Sorry Sean, but he's right. I've had a mandarin in my 90 gallon reef for nearly a year. It's got tons of love rock and had tons of copepods. I put him in and he depleted the swarms in a month. There's still lots of places for them to breed and they're in there but I have a thriving refugium along with weekly supplements to the tank to keep him (he eats fish eggs and mysis as well). Look out, those copepepods will be gone quickly; adult mandarins eat an average of 900 per day!
