Copper and butterfly and aiptasia

Copperband, not "copper and." Sorry....

I've had my CBB for about a week. He's doing very well, eating frozen brine shrimp like a champ and getting along with everyone. I mainly got him to control some aiptasia. I've seen him nip at some small aips, so that's promosing. Will these eat big aiptasias? Does it take time before they really go after aiptasia?

Like everything no guarantees. I added a copperband and it took him two weeks to rid display of aiptasia. I have heard some do not.

unfortunately thats one of the fishes you can't simply just starve him to make it eat what you want him to eat.

I've had my CCB for about 2 months. Came from Divers Den and was listed as eating mysis and brine. Didn't. Pecked a some Hikari clam on the half-shell. Ate some pods,. Introduced black worms and it became a terror, eating 20-30 a day.
I recently had aiptasia introduced from a frag. I has started to spread and I hoped my guy would chow down. Let the aiptasia go while the CCB was in QT.

The good news is my CCB mixes it up with my Kole Tang and Foxface and he gets his share of the worms- not shy at all. The bad.....the aiptasia is not, at present, on the menu. Still not eating mysis or brine. Oh well..........love the little guy anyway. He's trained me real well- black worms 2x day.

My Copperband ate aptaisia. It cleared out all of mine, and I had thousands, maybe millions. When the aptasia was gone, the copperband slowly starved and eventually died, because it would not eat anything else.

:(

I also really like the fish and am thankful that he's eating so well. Every day he's more aggressive when I feed the frozen brine. He gets right in the mix and eats it right along with the tangs, wrasses, etc. I tried one a few months ago and my yellow tang was so aggressive, the CBB never left the corner of the tank. Thankfully, I was able to return that CBB to the LFS. I am very confident this one will do well. I just would like him to eat some aiptasia in addition to frozen food....
