Who has kept a Copper Band Butterfly long term ? How long have you had your Copper band ? Do you have any Tangs in your tank ? What do you feel is the key to keeping one long term ?

Ted, I have found CBB's to be pretty simple. If they eat mysis withing a few days then you are fine, if they don't eat then you only have a week or two before they starve.
I don't think that there is any trick to it. You just have to get lucky enough to find one that handles the stress of capture and shipping well enough to keep eating. Once they start eating there are no problems.
My first CBB came from a LFS that had it a long time in the LR tank to clean up aiptasia. It ate with no problem and I kept it for two years until I broke down my 75.
I have tried 3 or 4 since then and all have withered away w/o eating. I love them but won't get another unless I see it eat vigorously at the LFS or unless it comes from another hobbyist that has kept it for awhile.

I have had no luck with them in my 120 FOWLR i have had two of them
and they both didnt make it past 1 month

so i feel you i like there look but only in the tanks at the LFS

Thanks Lee . I had one ,and it was eating , but it died after about 2.5 months . I thought one of my two tangs may have stressed it out .

Thank you for your help , and input .When I redo the rock, and sand in my tank I want to try to keep one again . I think with rearranging the rock work the tangs will be less aggressive .
