People usually wait at least a week or two after treating fish with copper to make sure there is no reoccurrence of ich before they transfer fish. Hence the reason there isn't a decent number of threads about it.

Copper is a natural ion in saltwater. There is no significant risk of contamination that I am aware of.

just worried about the inverts

and i dont understand, the water in qt dosent lose the copper. do you change it out after dosing with copper once or twice?

First of all, in my experience, to properly treat with copper, one should have a copper test kit. That way, I can monitor the copper levels during treatment. This is very important, if it's too high, it'll kill my fish. Perhaps almost as important, if it's too low, treatment must be restarted, as the parasite may have recovered.

Now that we have effectively treated with copper, we can test our HT water after the treatment is complete. You'll want to do water changes and/or run Cuprisorb until copper is undetectable, then give the fish a week or two for further observation.

HTH!
