copper / liverock

without thinkn I placed a piece of live rock in a quarantine tank along with my new fish and the water the fish was bagged in...I believe that the lfs uses copper. Is this live rock now finished? is it worth trying to keep?

It likely did bind some copper, but I can't know if it is too much or not.

If it is a small rock and a big reef tank, then rinsing it well may be adequate.
