I picked up a copperband and it showed signed of ick after 12hrs. My tank is all fake decor with wet n dry filter. No inverts. Should I do copper or hypo in my display tank. Only other fish is a chromis.

I have both and keep going back n forth figured I'd ask for some friendly thoughts

Tank is 220gal fish only no inverts

Thanks

I don't have time for that I either will do copper or hypo but I know copper might not be the best way so figured I'd post n see what ppl have done or think

Thanks

Copper and Hypo take longer than Tank transfer IMO, if the fish were in the DT it needs to remain fallow for 72 days but good luck in whatever treatment you choose.

IMHO you shouldn't put a Chelmon into such a tank as he likely won't do well there. They need to be able to pick worms and copepods all day and you only get that with live rock.

Be that as it may - with this setting you may do hyposalinity in the display tank.
TTM would be the better quarantine procedure but it can easily fail if not executed diligently. With hypo you just need to make sure you got the salinity right.

Hypo I think is better way just sucks to have 2 fish in a 220g for 2mo while treating just to get tangs n do the treatment all over again...

The copperband is eating frozen food that's the only reason I got it.
