I tried a CBB earlier while I had a an aggressive yellow tang in there. The yellow chased him immediately and the CBB never left the corner of the tank. I was able to get the CBB back to the store (I know the guy who eventually bought it and it's doing well in a peaceful tank). Several months later, I tried that second CBB after I had rehomed the yellow tang. Like I said above, the CBB did okay for a while, but just couldn't compete. So I gave him away too. Tough fish.

Mine has been kept with multiple clams and never bothered any of them.

For some reason mine will barely eat live blackworms seems he only likes mysis shrimp

Mine will only eat mysis shrimp, I do soak it in vita chem. competes with all fish for it and is one of my most aggressive eaters, have it in with angels, one tang wrasses etc.

Four months ago purchased what was supposed to be a 3 1/4" CBB from DD. His listing said he was eating mysis and brine ship very well. Upon arrival, the little guy was in good shape but not plump. He also less than 2 3/4" in length. Would not eat anything but pods. The size mattered because he was going in my 120 that already had a Kole Tang and a large Foxface. Already had a Yellow Tang in my QT. Had to partition the 29 gal. QT to keep the YT away from the CB. Had a bunch of pods in the QT. Called DD. Got the exact brand of mysis and brine sent to me. No luck. Nibbled at clams on the half shell. Black worms did the trick. He inhales 20 or more at each meal.
After QT, he actually settled down very well. Each day I first feed other frozen first. He is excited and sometimes seems to nip at small fragments and he continues to eat pods. Ignores my slowly increasing plague of Aptasia. Still goes crazy for the worms. Has filled out some. The rest of his mates are getting fat and love the black worms too. He holds his own with the other guys. Although healthy and happy, I may reduce the black worms to one time a day to help wean him off the worms and keep the other fish from looking like Macy's balloons. Black worms three or four times a week is okay but twice a day is a bit much.

My emporer angel bullied my CB to death, it was a awful experience.
Seemed to get through it, but when I went away for a couple of days on business, the bullying started again

My wife isn't very happy that she can't have a CBB (One of her favorite fish) since our aggressive fish (tangs) won't allow one to live in the tank

Wondering if having a larger fish population, getting a large CBB and using an acclimation box will work down the line...

I had to remove my blue powder tang. It is way too aggressive with the rest of the fish. The CBB is in the tank and is swimming freely. It nips at live rock, but have not seen it eat anything. I know the LFS was feeding it brine shrimp and mysis shrimp (both were frozen). I'll have to try live black worms. Will they take bloodworms, too?
