Hi
will a cb be ok in a 110 gallon? 4 x 2 feet x 22" high (a shorter 125 basically)?
Im' reading 60-75 minimum.

TY

I have one in a 80 gallon 48x24x16. But my tank is heavily srocked with pods so he seems happy

not ideal, because they do like to swim, but better than a tang in that size tank imo.

i had a CBB for years in my 160 and he liked to use every inch of that 6' tank length

They aren't really open water swimmers they go from rock to rock looking for pods. Well atleast mine does

mine loved to do laps all over my 155. he would pick along the rocks a lot as well, but always enjoyed swimming like a madman.

often the fish's behavior will change with additional space.

Well mine died yesterday. He was fine swimming around picking at rocks and then died i got him 2nd week of July

SO sorry! . You havef any idea why?
I'm thinking to get a very small one from LFS after I get my blue tang out. Probably will be a trade with LFS. I can tell they grow really slow as they have one for a few years that is not big at all. I'm going to get him if he's still there when I finally get my tang out.
Again sorry Mondo about yours!

there's oe at lfs, eatds lkek a pig, BUT has a faint small white bloatch on fin next to gill. It's been same for the past two days. UGH, other than that perfect. so nice looking also. SHoudl I get it???? I dont have a way to QT etc if that blotch is a real concern

Again sorry Mondo about yours!

it's all good man, thank you. it happens. i had actually had him (pretty sure it was a him based on the forehead shape at least) for a couple years and really enjoyed having him in the tank. only downside was that he developed quite the taste for acans and some other types of LPS

Hey Mondo
I didnt know yours died!. I meant to say "again sorry MarAquatic" .
But sorry about yours too.. I wonder how long they normally live.
*I ended up getting a CB today. Not the one wiht the mark on it. Looks really nice, of course not eating right now. They just got "him" in today. So now he's really stresse dwith all the changes.

**What do you all suggest I try to get him to eat? And I'm hoping he will not get a taste for my LPS, though I dont have too many.

TY!

haha, thanks. i had mine for 3 or 4 years, but it was one of the largest CBB's i had seen when i bought it. so i'm thinking it was an old fish when it came to me.

mine loved PE Myses, live white worms, live black worms, and brine shrimp, so i usually rotated him through those.

I see on Live Aquaria that Aussie CB are 2x cost of others even more I think. I was told by a fish geek that it's because they have the best chance for survival. Thoughts on that?

Edit: the one I had died after less than 48 hrs. LFS tried to say it's because my salinity is 35 ppm (1.026-1.027). They tested it at 1/028, but anyhow it is 1.026-7. They keep their salinity much lower (of course ugh). I didnt think about that when I got him. I acclimted him, but if I knew salinity difference was great I would have lowered my tank and acclimated him even more slowly.

i would be extremely skeptical of their claim. i've taken enough fish from low to high salinity and never had a problem.
