My tank is 5x2x2
I added a copperband last week and he's doing great there is only 4 firefish and a small pair of clowns in there at present
my question what would be a good choice of tang to add ti the tank won't be putting one in for a few weeks

Thanks Robbie

A yellow tang is always a good start. I have a blue hippo and yellow in my 4x2x2 for about to years now. I added a CBB about six months ago.

I am not a huge fan of the Tangs but I have grown very fond of my Black Tang. A good friend bought him as a very small juvenile and then broke his tank down about 8 months later. I have had him for the last 2+ years and he is a model citizen. Quite mellow, fat, and very healthy. I fear that I will need to find him a new home in the next year as he will begin to need more room as he continues to grow. Pacific Island Aquatics has a gorgeous little Black Tang for sale right now, one of two, but the smaller one already sold. A bit more $$ than other tangs but the wow factor is amazing. Every person that comes over, reefers and
non reefers, goes nuts for my Black Tang. Just gorgeous!!!

It's funny that you just posted this. I just read this in the Black Tang thread:

I've my 3.25" BT [Black Tang] for 6 weeks now and I can tell you it can get pretty aggressive toward new comers even it they're larger. Mine was in for only 2 weeks and it was an angel that it was aggressive toward so I can imagine what it would be like if it was a tang. I've only added a 2nd tang once but by adding 5" purple tang to a established 3.5-4" yellow tang didn't work. The smaller yellow tang was just relentless.

Since you're going to be adding a few at the same time my suggestion is to put the BT in a acclimation box for a week for the other tangs to settle in and watch their interaction before releasing the BT.

You did the right thing by placing the CBB into the tank first, otherwise he would of been bullied a little upon introduction if the tang was there first. I would stick with one of the smaller and usually more peaceful tangs such as a yellow, yellow eye (kole), or convict tang.

I added a cbb in with my black tang about a year ago.... black tang didn't even notice it. tank is a 265 .tang is about 5" cbb about 3.5"
