Copperbanded butterfly question

Cod Fish

I was thinking about adding a copperbanded butterfly to my tank. I know the risks with coral nipping but I was more concerned about it being a good tank mate for my other fish. I have a yellow tang, coral beauty, 3 clowns, lawnmower blenny and a six line wrasse. Any thoughts?

Copperbands are difficult to keep alive long term. They're finicky eaters and tend to starve to death. Can't advise on tank mate compatibility.

Thanks, scratch that idea. I'm looking for a unique addition to the tank with a medium size if anyone gas any suggestions.

I agree with snorvich, It may be docile with it's current tankmates but they almost always become vicious little monsters.

The yellow tang will likely take exception to a copperband as they look similar. I don't see them getting along very well

Copperbanded?

Copperbanded?

When I got a copperbanded after I already had a yellow tang and a hippo it did not survive until I got rid of my 2 tangs. ,Sorry, but what about a beautiful flasher or Fairy Wrasse , or flameback or pygmy angel or dwarf angel. My favorite fish right now is a Midas Blenny . Great personality,,,,.....:fish1:

Agree with ReeferBill. The YT will fight with the CBB. If you do buy, make sure it's eating at the store before getting it.

Tank size would help in advice, and you may want to rethink on having 3 clowns, most likely that will become an issue as they mature.

Tank is a 90 gallon with 25 gallon sump and side refugium. I looked up some up reeferbill's suggestions and got some interesting images when I googled beautiful flasher, probably shoulder of added wrasse to my search. I hope the clowns don't become an issue they have been together for 3 years now in multiple setps.
