Does anyone have a coral band saw i can borrow? I bought a large flat rock with lots of different zoas and palys and I want to frag it into smaller pieces as it does not fit in my tank....

I have a tile saw I can use but my rock is about 2 inches and my tile saw is good for an inch......

Those who have lent me gear in the past can tell you I usually give a pretty cool gift...you can pm me if you want to know....

I am in west islip and can pick it up and drop it off....or meet somewhere....

Here is the rock I need to cut....

You don't necessarily need to cut all the way through the rock. You can score it as deep as you can with your tile saw then place it on top of a wood dowel or screw driver shaft with the scored side up and press down firmly. It should break right on the line. Done it many times to larger rocks than that using a 4" diamond wheel on a hand held grinder. Yeah you may squish a few heads but they'll grow back. Don't forget to wear eye protection or a face shield.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I am looking to cut between the different types of coral so I can place them where I want. The band saw will give me the precision create nice pices to place around my tank. That's kind of how I roll....

I have a diamond bit for my grinder that can cut all the way through but in trying to cut around polyps I am more than likely going to splash myself with a nice healthy dose of play toxins.
