I have 2 cleaner shrimp that i have had in my 55g for a while now, and i have them trained to be hand fed, i also have 1 fire shrimp that has been in there for about 3 months now, i see him when he sees the pellets, but thats about it, i plan on upgrading to a 90g soon, and was wonderig if this is a sufficient amount of space for maybe a coral banded, and/or maybe another fire shrimp.

A CB should be ok. I would get a small one. They can be more aggressive then other shrimp. I have a CB and a cleaner in my 75 gal.

I have a CB, one cleaner shrimp and 2 pepp shrimp. So far so good. they have been together for several months. All the shrimp stay away from the CB. For that matter everything stays away from the CB!! He is not out very much. I still get to see him because I have left swimming room between the rocks. HTH

I've had bad experiences with the coral banded shrimp. If they get kind of big I've seen them attack cleaner shrimp from time to time. Just from my experience.

i have a CB with banded with the dreaded nemesis arrow crab and they seem to steer clear of eachother. they've even been in close proximity to eachother and still havent done anything.

i've got a huge female cb and she was in the tank over a year before i caught my lysmata. they are in my 75 and both get along fine. but it knows to get out of the cb's way. even my 16 inch eel is afraid of the cb.

I've got a mated pair of CBS and they killed my peppermint shrimp awful quick ... So I fed the dead peppermint to my anemone...

I have a cbs, fire shrimp, sally lightfoot, emerald crab, and two hermits, and they all seem to get along fine. I've seen them crawl all over each other and not mind, unless they are spooked then they take off like a bat out of hell.

I had a CB in my 72 for about a week and I removed him last night. He attacked my scooter blenny, and had a craving for my cleaners. Luckly I got him out before he killed anything!

I'm thinking I may take out the 2 I have and try a trade 1 for cleaner or fire shrimp...

Is it true they kill fish ?

I've never seen it happen. Stenopus will "wave off" a fish that gets too close. The shrimp will likely pick on an unhealthy fish... but their bark is far worse than their bite (so to speak).

That is what I have noticed about my CB. He will "bow" up at anyone or anything, even my hand. But I have yet to se him do any damage to anything.

Is it true CB shrimp eat fish?

Yes, it is true CB shrimps eat fish! Mine has grown rather large and has eaten one of my firefish, as well as, almost kill my hi fined red banded goby. He has become very aggressive. I am uber ****ed off at him! I just put him in isolation and am contemplating what to do with him. What do most people do with a bully shrimp/fish they no longer want?

I think my CBS ate my Skunk Cleaner. I had the CBS for about 6 months and I just added a Skunk Cleaner about 2 weeks ago. They remainded on opposite sides of my 90, until on night I noticed the CBS on the Cleaners side. A couple of days after that the Cleaner dissapeared. I haven't seen the Cleaner for over a week now. Probably dead. It's possible that the Cleaner is still alive, especially since I have gone weeks without seeing my CBS. Then it would just pop out a night. But I doubt it, I don't believe Cleaners will hide like that, it used to stay out in the open.
