Coral Banded feeding?

I got a Coral Banded Shrimp on Friday. It has since gone hiding. I haven't seen it, except for a glimse of it's antennas, once. I thought they were supposed to be aggresive feeders? Don't they ussually come out to eat? Should it just be a matter of time before it'll start to come out to eat or is this what I should expect?

Mine doest come out to eat. I only target feed him once every month or two. He gets by on something, but it's not what I feed him..

my banded coral eats the pellets i feed my fish. when i drop in the brine shrimp he knows it is feeding time and comes out to get some. He loves the pellets though.

They usually only come out to eat. Just give him a little longer. Once they smell it, they usually come running.

yea, give him time....it's a new world he is getting use to!

My CBS freaks out when food is added to the tank & runs around the tank most of the day. Then again, I have no fish in there ATM :(

I've got one teamed up with a percula, and I HAND feed him tiny pieces of krill. He's my little bud. Lots of personality. He gets fed every other day.

My CBS is the KING of my office nano. He come "running" to see me every morning when I get in (I admit he is just using me for the food). I don't hand feed, not after getting pinched! I feed frozen mysis shrimp ever couple of days.

LOL! Well, mine is just a little guy, although I cant imagine his pinch would be much... I guess that remains to be seen.

I have two Coral Banded Shrimp / Banded Coral Shrimp (for those in the naming controversy), one in my 75 and one in my 30 cube. The one in the 75 is out scavaging every night but never comes out at feeding times. The Shrimp in the 30 comes out for every meal and often times climbs on the baster to get first dibs.

I'd say the feeding aggressiveness level is really dependant on the individual. Give it time to settle into its environment. After the shrimp has had a few months of learning your routine you'll be able to better determine its demeanor.

GL... They're a lot of fun to watch, especially when they get big.

I wouldn't say they are aggressive feeders, they are just plain aggressive (more so than the cleaners) but not too bad. however, the cleaners are definitely more aggressive feeders than the CBS any day. I myself have a golden CBS and he is one of the shyer ones. I never see him, but he gets by.

Mine is always visible .. whether he's hanging out in his cave or prowling the tank for whatever garbage he can find.
He routinely robs the anemone of mysis and he gets quite excited when I feed flakes or shrimp. 29 gallon tank, 2 false clowns and a royal gramma.
