I watched one of my large Coral Banded shrimps eat a bristle worm that was about two inches long., Anyone here of this before and if so anyone ever use these shrimp to clear out bristle worms. I myself like some bristle worms however to many can be a little crazy in the tank at night. anywho any info would be nice thanks

I have seen this with many Stenopus shrimp. I have collected 5 different species and all but 1 sp of them eat small bristle worms, but not enough to use them for control. In Julian Sprung's book Inverts, a wuick ref. guide pg 172 there is a picture of an atlantic Stenopus spinnosus (although caption says unidentified) that is eating a bristle worm in aquarium. I have collected a few and this sp seems to eat the most. I have my second Stenopus pyrsonotus collected in sept and I have never seen this sp eat them, but in their defence they are much more nocternal then the others I have kept.

I have a coral banded shrimp I saw eat a bristle worm. I don't know how long it was as I got it eat just a small piece of it.
