Ha! More like passive stalking...and I should definitely point out that at that particular time the tank was somewhat overstocked so it may have been that more than the actual personality of the fish. HTH!
I had one for about 6 months and he/she didnt touch corals ,inverts or other fish was a very friendly fish..unfortunatly it succumbed to ich. now i have a flame angel and it has the same temperment.. love those pigmy angels!
Coral beauties were always one of my favorites when I had a FO tank but have not tried one since I started keeping corals. Let me know how It works out for you.
Here is a picture of on I used to have. It was a real nice specimen.
Love the centropyge bispinosa (coral beauty). It is generally touted as less likely to attack lps corals and clams than most other centropyge angels. But an angel is an angel and I have not taken the risk in the main displays. I have a 65 g tank with leathers, discoma xenia and some pachyclaurlaria where I keep a flame angel
(centropyge loricula) and despite it's reputation it does not eat soft coral polyps. If it did I wouldn't mind.
I do keep a Genicanthus melanospilos ( Japanese swallow tail) noted by Scott Michaels as:"...one of the best angelfishes for reef aquariums because it poses no threat to stony or soft corals..."
She is a good citizen and I've had her for 4 or 5 years. She's an October storm ich outbreak survivor. But even this angel will nip cynarina open brain corals but not scolymia or trachyphylia or anything else in the tank.
I have one in my 190g reef and two in my 1700g reef and I've never seen them be aggressive to other fish or inverts regardless if they are bigger or smaller and I've never seen them take shots at my corals.
