Coral beauty angelfish

Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask, what is the recommended food for this fish? I see that some people use Nori, others use Ocean Nutrition Pygmy Angel Formula Frozen Fish Food, mysis shrimp, flakes?

I feed mine mysis, brine shrimp enhanced with spirulina, Formula two flakes, formula one frozen, spirulina sinking pellets and it picks throughout the tank all day. Each of those foods I rotate for the whole tank daily except for the flake and pellets, I feed those together.

i usually feed frozen...a mix of different frozen/not always the same. i also use freeze dried shrimp (the green kind) and "finicky fish" pellets

you should be using the sheets of nori aswell they benefit from a nice variety of meaty foods AND vegetation

I feed mainly LRS PE mysis, NLS pellet and red algae sheet.
I have four tangs and two dwarf angels so I feed nori heavily.

So im sorry to inform everyone but the fish died. Purchased from strictly fish and it was in very good health... My quarantine set up was simple, water heater, 10 gallon tank, water from the main display tank, and a hang on filter with only white mesh... I tried feeding him yesterday with everything that was mentioned, but he was more interested swimming back and forth trying to get out ... I did not see any signs of disease either... i think i might have needed a larger quarantine tank for this fish... what do you guys think? I also have a pajama cardinalfish that is doing fine in the quarantine tank.

Sorry to hear it died, did you give him areas to hide while in the quarantine tank? They really like to pop in and out of rockwork. My Coral beauty took almost 2 weeks before it decided to eat anything besides the pods and algae on the rocks. Yes I rolled the dice and didn't quarantine mine since he was the first fish I put in the tank after running fishless for 3 months because of ich.

I assume you have some kind of bio filter in the tank? Despite the recommendation given on this forum I still keep live rock in my QT to avoid ammonia spike. I simply don't have time to be around all day long. So check your water and see if you can find the issue.

I had one for more than a year before he got too big and a bully for my old 50 gallon tank. I feed mostly frozen mysis and that's what he got every day. I would clip nori periodically and he would eat that too.

I picked up a CBA yesterday and he's in my 10-gal. QT. He's probably 2.5" and I'm am a little nervous the QT might be a little too small for him. Not to mention I have a Midas Blenny due in this week and was planning on adding him to the QT too. I hope they can co-exist together.

Sorry for your loss. Many Coral Beauty angels are collected using cyanide and it kills them all of a sudden a month or two from when they're collected.
