Coral eating starfish?

I found this starfish attached to an acropora coral. The polyps on the bottom portion (where the starfish was) are gone. I'm unsure, however, if this was the starfish's doing. There's a photo of it in my gallery under "starfish". Is this an acropora-eating starfish (if such a starfish exists)?

there are acropora eating stars. Ever heard of the crown of thorns starfish?

Your star is Asterina. Some have been known to prey on corals. If you find them on corals and see obvious damage I would remove them.
