Coral Group order

well those zoos i bought as the watermelons? they are a brownish purple, I wouldnt pay $5 for them hopefully they color up. After this I am going to have to seriously re-think ordering corals on the internet, I paid $400 for 7 corals that I could fit in the palm of my hand :( oh well Live and learn i guess.
On a positive note I wne to exotic tropicals today and got a really nice crocea for $29 and a metallic green plate coral. He got a ton of stuff in today.

Due to the timing of this shipment relative to my vacation, I had to skip the order. I was thinking about a trip to Key's Island after I get back from Hawaii in a week. I figure that after seeing a real reef and not being able to take anything home, I'll be in the mood for some frags.

thanks guys, I enjoyed having you over, sorry I rushed you both, I never have enough time in the day it seems.
I am up to 11 clams I believe, I may stop around 20 or so ;)
For now no more Gigas though, 3 is enough, I'll have to buy another calcium reactor someday when they get big.
Dan, I'll run up to keys with you anytime! I love that place.

Chris

better get a bigger calcium rector!

Chris, you dont think that CaRx is big enough? All you got to do is increase the bubble count and effluent drip rate as time goes on to compensate for calcium comsumption.

Russ here are some pics of the frags that I have two of. They have very nice tips.

Yeah I was kidding about a bigger reactor, Yeah thats the beauty of the reactor just increase bubble count. as far as the 2 or 3 part, i'll never go back to that, didnt work for me and if you research most big tank owners use a reactor. I tried to avoid buying a reactor but i now see why they all use them, its just makes the most sense for a big tank. I was dosing a gallon of each part per week and couldnt get more than 300 ppm. now I tested calcium today and Its 440 ppm.

hey Chris, you should see if Russ would give you some tips about your reactor. He seems pretty well educated. Remember when I was telling you about how his reactor uses the PH controller to controll the CO2. I am sure he could give you a some good ideas for yours.

yeah i did when I set it up, its been working flawlessly though, the ph is always at 8.15 and varies only slightly. I use the 2 chamber design to help boost the ph up, and I saw russ' setup he has a final chamber that gases off the co2 with an airpump, great idea i may add one of those someday if I feel the need to raise the ph more, but really I think a ph in the range of 8-8.3 that is very steady is great. I dont know how steady the ph is when using driveway melt? do you guys continuously monitor ph? and does it ever vary? I'm guessing todds is the most consistent because he does a constant dose with a peristalic pump.

It will be a little bit. The cleanup crew and frags took a big chunk out of the wallet. I am still trying to figure out if square or round would be better? I am thinking about going square. I need to buy some new bulbs before too. GEEZZZ so expensive this hobby. lol Maybe around tax time. lol
