Coral ID help.

I just got these guys today and I was curious if anyone knew what they were called. Also, what are the little orange/rust polyps on the base of the frag of the first pic?

Those little orange polyps your seeing look like the remnants of a Montipora digitata coral. I'm not sure about the zoanthids though.

They are all zoanthid sp. The names are arbitrarily made up solely for marketing purposes.

Thanks for the replies! I knew they were all zoanthids but I was curious if there was any common marketing names for them. Some of the names are quite interesting (ex. Gorilla Nipples lol...)

Yeah, some of those names are a little ridiculous, but the ones that are "on the level" so to say do help distinguish one Zoanthid from the other.

I dont know what this is and today it has swollen to twice that size. Is this a bad thing

that's a lps coral looks like a variety of open brain coral the swelling is it opening up.

Certainly not a zoa specialist by any means, but those look to be all black. Only ones I've seen that are black they call Darth Mauls.

Zoa names are a marketing gimmick to get people to buy the ultra rare neon orange super duper party popper zoas. With a name like that you can expect to pay 100$ a polyp. lmao

The funny thing is you can go to any number of different LFS's and see the same morph, yet it will have several different names and prices.

It looks like a Favia or perhaps Favites. Something along those lines. The puffiness your seeing is usually an indication that the coral is happy IME. Not that it's sick or anything in the second one though. Inflating, deflating is just what they do.
