Coral Magazine

I just got the long awaited Jan/Feb edition of Coral Magazine. It's a fantastic issue and it's definately the best one out there and they are currently offering a free magazine with one year subscription.

I received my copy of the January/February 2009 issue of Coral magazine yesterday. It is now being published in the U.S. by James Lawrence. Daniel Knop is still the International Editor. Anthony Calfo is the Associate Publisher as well as one of the seven Contributing Editors.

This is the issue that was supposed to be published by Eco System Aquarium in December as the December/January issue. It's very nice, just like it has always been.

I still haven't received a refund from Eco System Aquarium for the full year's subscription renewal that they owe me. I had just called them in October to renew. I have been a subscriber since the very beginning. I sent them another email today -- my fourth in the last seven weeks -- asking them why I haven't received the refund I requested but so far they have not replied to any of my emails.

They sent out that unsigned letter the beginning of December advising us that they had severed their relationship with Koralle and that they were in the "process of designing" a new magazine that they hoped would be ready for publication sometime this spring. Maybe.

I only found out by accident that Coral was still being published in an American edition but by a new publisher. I happened to come across that information is a thread on one of the boards.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I ordered mine a few months ago and wasn't billed untill just before shipping, but I understood that this issue would be delayed due to the changes in publishers. I got my 1st Free issue and will continue to receive the Magazine for the next year (7 total issues). I thought that the US publisher who was originally involved was branching off to form Reef Life Magazine to be released this spring and that Coral Magazine was still a German publication. Anyway it's a great magazine, much better quality than the other aquarium magazines out there.

My "bad experience" was NOT with the new publisher, James Lawrence. As I said in my post, I have already received my first issue, the January/February 2009 issue, published by the new guys. I have every English edition of Coral magazine ever published as I have been a subscriber since Day One.

My "bad experience" has been with the old publisher, Eco System Aquarium. They mailed out an unsigned letter the first week of December telling us that we could request a refund for the balance of our subscription or we could have it applied to their new magazine, ReefLife, which was still in the "process of being designed." I have sent Eco System Aquarium four separate emails -- including one this morning -- over the past seven weeks asking for a refund and they have so far refused to even respond to my emails.

I had just renewed my subscription with Eco System Aquarium shortly before they unexpectedly severed all ties with Koralle, so they owe me for a full year.

I have never seen it at Bourders but Salty Critter always used to sell it and am sure they still do

In T-town one of our stores has just started selling it

I can not remember if Sedar sells it in his store, I mostly get stuff sent to me from him
