Coral Not Opennig

New to the hobby.
I have a 75g tank that has been running for 6 weeks now. On the fourth week I bought a Galaxy Coral(I think) and it was doing fine, openning when lights came on and closing when lights turned off. One day I found a hermit on top of it, maybe eating it. This last two weeks I've noticed white spots on the side of the hard tubes and today I took a closer look, to see what was it, and found new buds, some of its polyps where closed as well. Also this last week I put in some KENT Marine Phytoplex.

I am kind of worried that it had most of its polyps closed. Does this mean that it will die soon? Or is it because it is in a growing stage? Or could this be a side effect to the phytoplankton I added?

Also as I lifted the frag I noticed some small critters, almost looked like centipedes, that came out of the left over skeletons that came with the frag.

My tank has two strips of lights(Actinic Blue & 18000k), a Koralia 2 a Berlin skimmer and sump. The par are Ammo 0, Nitrite and trates 0, PH 8.0-8.2, Temp 80F, SG ~1.022, Calcium ~400 or >, and Kh 240

So what is wrong, why are they closing?:sad2:

First your lighting is a little on the weak side and your tank is very young you are probably just out of your cycle so any corals you add are not going to do great. Also you need to raise your salinity to 1.026 it is very low for corals where it is now.

Yeah , I remember reading about the salinity thing, but never thought I needed this level for my tank since I had seen the polyps open and dong great. I guess I will raise it and see what happens.

Will raising the salinity affect the shrimps, damsels and mushroom polyp that I have in the tank?

Also, what do you mean by out of cycle?
