Coral Recommendations

Would 40 watts of pc lights on a 10 gallon work well for the beginner corals listed? I'm trying to finalize my light choice.

Watts per gallon rule isn't really that accurate. With 40 watts on a 10, you should be able to keep some softies, but probably not any LPS.

noschmo, what lights do you have?

Here is a picture of my 12 Gal DX... Everything is stock in the tank and I have had great luck with my corals...

skooter: Nice tank! Added some mushroom and a leather over the weekend from an open house at a local wholesaler, Seacrop. The current tank is just a ten that I am using until I can figure how to put together a stand for my nano 24 which has been modded by Nanacustoms except for the lights. Still undecided about light on the nano and the 10 on my desk which has lots of live rrock, chaeto, almost like a fuge. The light on the ten is a 14 watt regular florescent with a small coralite for the chaeto. Lights are perhaps the most confusing issue for beginners. I grow cacti seed for a year under MH then into sun in my greenhouses. I just want lower light on the corals. Nanocustoms did add the little chiller so we will see what happens with that. Will I need to upgrade stock lighting on JBl 24 nano with just mushrooms , zooes etc?

I like zenia for movement but think under lower lighting mushrooms take the cake. Very easy to keep and most spread really fast if you can pick up a small colony of about 5 to 10.
