Why do you want to dip again?
Any type of dipping needs a purpose.
You can't dip just because.
- When you buy a new frag or colony you'll need to dip to prevent any unwanted organism getting in your system.
- When you frag the colonies yourself, you need to dip to prevent infections.
- When you've got excess of algae around the polyps you should try to remove them, so they won't suffocate the colony. If possible an appropriate dip would help too.
Each type of dip has the proper way to be done and it's purposes.
Coral Rx was made to dip corals in order to kill most organisms around them, including some algae.
I've never heard bad things about Coral Rx yet.
The amount of chemical added to the water for any type of dip and time of exposure during dips will have the right or wrong affects on the zoanthids.
Normally zoas are pretty strong and will handle recommended dosages for the Coral Rx really well.
Here is what they recommend:
---------------------------------------------
Directions
Dosage per gallon of dip
- Coral Rx: 20ml or 4 capfuls
- Coral Rx Pro: 30 drops
- Coral Rx Industrial: 10 drops
Shake bottle of Coral Rx. Add dosage as stated above based on product purchased to 1 gallon (3.8 liters) of saltwater from aquarium. Mix well. Using a small power head, keep the water moving and place coral in the coral dip. If you do not have a power head, gently shake coral in the coral dip. Keep coral in the coral dip for 5 – 10 minutes. After 5 – 10 minutes, remove coral and discard the coral dip. Do not reuse the coral dip as parasite may release toxins. Rinse coral with clean saltwater and return to aquarium. Do not add Coral Rx directly into aquarium.
