so now that we have fish and coral i have a question for you Peter i know at the dinner in Orlando we briefly discussed QT habits and had very different idea's all around the table. I'm interested to know what you have decided on doing for all fish and corals entering your system. With a system the size of yours it would be a nightmare trying to catch a sick fish or trying to get rid of redbugs or flatworms. On my systems i dip for everything and QT for 2-3 months before introducing anything so was wanting to know what you have decided to do.
Terry
yeah, i was referring to success ratioi'm guessing you are using a DSLR and the 1's and 0's refer to just deleting the pics that weren't good as opossed to wasting film on a conventional camera. Either way, great pic, that must have taken alot of patience!
Sorry, I'm OCD. Not that anybody cares but ...

Filamented Fairy Wrasse - Cirrhilabrus filamentus

wow, nice shot. Try taking a pic of that translucent goby. I'm surious to see what it looks like on camera.
Cirrhilabrus filamentosus ♂. They are identified by their flash colouration. Do a Google Image search on the latin name and you'll see several colour morphs on this fish.nineball said:I wonder if he is in fact a Carpenter Wrasse?
Yes but I have had a slight change in strategy. I figure the first to pass the ladder test should have some say in the trainees that follow. I figure if I introduce them slowly I won't upset the balance of nature.
Peter
Everything, fish, corals and any additional rock spend at least 6 to eight weeks in the Wilson Bars. If we spot any problems we will move the fish/coral to the hospital tank for intensive care. I do not plan to try and cure any disease in the main display tank....the offending subject will be removed if possible or nature will run its course. I haven't decided on prophylactic measures yet and I do not plan to address the subject until I am ready with a tank that is in full production status first. It is a very controversial subject and I do not want the distraction at this stage. The life in the tank so far is meant to assist in verifying that the ecosystem is healthy and stable. It does not necessarily represent the stocking agenda when the tank is deemed ready for populating.
