does anyone use coral vital??? .... do u think using it in conjunction with b-ionic is overkill? are there other good sumpliments to use in conjunction with b-ionic? ... i lije b-ionic

They are two totally different supplements with different purpose.
b-ionic will replenish the required Calcium and Alkalinity daily consumption to maintain coralline and coral skeleton growth.
Coral-Vital is more like one of those magic concotions that claim to do a lot but you may well live eithout. If any, my best guess is that it may contain either some dormant bacteria that may feed some filter feeders or may be some aminoacids which have been used to improve the coral biology but as it does not state what it really contains I will treat it as an unknown potion just claiming to do magical things and save my money. If my purpose is to add aminoacids or bacteria I would get a product specifically stating what it is like Salifert Aminoacids.

Coral Vital is snake oil, it's a sham. It is totally useless, unless you just like throwing your money away...

snake oil ... wow ... but thats what i thought about them anyway--that i wouldn't be dosing the same thigs twice ... thanks

Do you mean Coral-vite? I am using it (my area has crap for marine additives and it was the only calcium additive in the store) the only it did for me was my calcium was super low at around 100, after using just about the whole bottle over 3 weeks, my calcium was finally at 300. It has all these other minerals in it, and none of the other minerals have in registered on my test kits.

That is a vary expensive way of maintaing calcium as the amout it contains is almost neglegible so most probably your increase come from water changes.
You will save a ton if you just use Calcium Chloride, Kent TurboCalcium, ESV Caclium Chloride or even de-Icers like Dow flake or Peladow wil do.
For alkalinity you can use just plain old baking soda.
Check your Magnesium level, it should be around 1300 if low it can make it difficult to maintain stable calcium.
Use this calculator to determine how much product you will need to make adjustments.
