Coraline Algae

This is a good thing, to have coraline algae growing everywhere. My question is - other than keeping it off the glass- is it okay to leave it on everything else (i.e. powerheads, heater, intake, etc..)? Will it hurt anything?

It really wants to stick to the plastic!

The only other place I could think of it becoming an issue is if it starts gerowing on the intake cone of your power heads.

Heck, I got snails with more coraline on their shells then I have on some of my rocks.

I won't hurt anything. Just a matter of asthetics at that point.

It could become a problem if it starts plugging up the intakes on the powerhead and siphon holes on returns.

But isn't that what regular maintenance and vinegar are for?

just make sure you clean/soak your filter and power heads every so offten and you shouldnt run into any problems. Vinegar is a good media to clean with.

Straight vinegar? Or should you dilute it with ro water?

Either will work. I generally dilute it 10:1 or so, and submerge the powerhead now and then.
