Hey all,

Anyone have some coralline algae they've scraped off or are going to scrape off their glass? Looking to seed some new rock in a new tank.

Thanks much,
Henry

henry ,

I could donate a little bit , i dont have much but your welcome to come up and get some. Im up in the clearwater area...Also have you tried purple up or aragamilk? they are great for starting a new system up. They have both worked very well for me in the past.

I used purple up. Worked great, I just scraped my glass but if you would like some I can scrap my sump or over flows. Let me know, I am on university and 75.

Thanks for the advice! Think I'll try the Purple Up for a bit, and if it's not working hit you guys up for some scrapings.

Thanks again,
Henry

Yes, I've got live rock in my tank. Just wanted to get a little more coralline growth on it and had had great luck with scrapings before.

*shrug*, not sure if "diverse" is the right word but different colors of coralline are nice IMHO.

Interesting, I just have never heard of using scrapings. Makes sense just nothing I have heard of. I guess it is a great way to get coralline without getting any of possible nastys.

Good luck,
Chris

I am probably going to scrap my glass this week. Does anyone still need some? I will wait till we can get together. I don’t know the best way to get the scrapings out of the water but I am sure i can figure something out. It has been 3 weeks since I last scraped so you can barely see trough my tank, Lots to give.

Let me know

Mike

I have coraline falling off in chunks in my mantis tank. However it's low light coraline.............
