corals dinner time

How long should i guard my corals while they eat?, my hernits and shrimp don´t let them eat in pease :)
I´ve got a trumpet, pieapple brain and a hammer.

This is exactly why I got rid of all my shrimp and crabs. I like to feed my LPS several times per week and I'm not going to sit there guarding everything for 20 minutes each time. That said, I do have a fire shrimp in one tank that is much more reclusive than other cleaner shrimp so he's fairly well behaved in this regard.

My fire shrimp still goes after everything. Usually if I shoo him away a few times he just stays back where he lives.

I've got a fungia that can eat its food fairly fast, within a minute or two so something like that you won't have to guard very long.

Not sure how fast your trumpet, brain, etc will eat but you may have to sit there and guard its food for a little while.

My tank currently has no inverts like shrimp because I feed my dendros almost daily and would be ****ed if the shrimp stole the coral's food.

You also may not have to feed your corals because they are photosynthetic corals and really don't need to eat. I don't think you want to be doing this a few times a week as it may be time consuming, since a lot of the corals energy comes from light, maybe you can just feed them once a week to supplement.

I wouldn't have bought a shrimp if I knew he would be so crazy about food. He always hides too so there's not a lot of enjoyment with him.
