Hey guys,
my coral here lately as been looking a little bleached out. are there particular chemicals that may affect the color or make them look opaque or semi transparent in the case of my candy coral? Seems like they just dont have the color they had before. My alk usually runs around 7.5 to 8.5, phosphates are low to none and calcium is between 400 and 450 and my lighting is an aquatinics 5 bulb setup for a 70 gallon. Any help is appreciated.

what's your mag level? Also did you just change lighting or anything? Pics would help.

just checked the mag level and it was 1125 so I added some more. as far as lighting goes the bulbs are about 4 month old ATI bulbs

They might be reacting to a higher nutrient load, which encourages zooxanthellate growth. Bulbs also decay over time, at a varying rate, so you might be seeing a bit of a difference there. It's hard for me to get a sense of how much change there is in color, so it's hard to say much.
